The UnCuyo tech is the most exciting aspect of LRS heading into the new year for me. If the scaled plant proves successful and the tech is viable for large scale production it will be a real game changer.
Dr. Mario Rodríguez's technology is lower in energy consumption, leaves no solid waste and the liquid effluent and can be put back into cycle or sent off for irrigation. The separation process compounds the lithium spodumene into either carbonate or lithium fluoride and it generates some valuable industrial materials including cryolite, calcium fluoride and hexafluorosilicate sodium.
That we have the box seat opportunity to secure this tech for use in Argentina, Australia, China and the US is incredible. I just hope that completion date in Feb 2018 was a University estimate and not a classic CG special.
The rest of the update is par for the course with pending approvals, imminent ground work to commence and a JORC coming soon^TM however the update on the mineral sands was welcome news.
