You have a point but the ALP FC policy is a major retrograde step that will affect the sp and other things in companies like TLS who pay ff divs at present. I have noted some changes already that I suspect are due to early movers adjusting things - I will change how I invest too and this tax grab will end up raising very little tax and perhaps raising less tax over time as people invest less in companies which grow the economy and invest in alternatives. The agile and the really wealthy will easily restructure to get a 100% tax deduction on their franking credits. Others will be hurt. But I am more worried about the next steps - I think the ALP would like to kill off SMSFs and force people to invest in for example the industry super funds. I long thought that super was a danger as it corralled wealth in one place fully audited and controlled, ready for a government to come in steal it, and that is exactly what is happening.
