Stocks such as TLS are shown by the empirical evidence to not do so badly under the ALP as you may think in Australian stock market history. TLS might be a good stock for retirees if they sort out their tax position and beware of the geopolitical risks caused by the election.

So into the election, the Australian stocks get sold or underperform compared to global indices into the change of Government. That is happening or has happened, then the stock falls a little after the ALP is first elected, when the capitalist fears are worst realised. Then the stock recovers. And TLS has always performed similarly.

Then the ALP Government backtracks as the Government contracts, I.e. Whitlam and Hawke and Rudd scenarios, there is a horror first budget but then stocks make a miraculous recovery.

TLS might be double or even more under the ALP provided the economic system stays the same even if it is foreign offshore investors propelling it further.

Domestic investors, caught by end to franking credit at other rebates, end to CGT relief and end to negative gear8ng on margin lending might have little incentive to hold and may have to look at other income sources such as the Australian public service, welfare system and other such as emigrating to the private sector outside Australia IMHO.

but as a whole, TLS should IMHO be a medium to long term buy from here for the reasons outlined.
