What if Weebit decided to go it alone with Leti and made money licensing the 40nm to tier 1 for the time being.Took on the giants of the memory industry with the backing of the French Goverment. Looking at how phones evolved, How Nokia was king of the castle, Samsung were nowhere in sight either was Apple in phones.
Bill Gates biggest fear was missing out in the next big thing. Well that happened with Microsoft missing out on smartphones. Googles browser was Linux based. One smart move changed these companies. All these players have to be in front of the curve.
Hypothetically say Microsoft wanted to get into the memory space to play catch up. Its a possibility seeing as there will be a need for neuromorphic software.
The big players within this space have taken so much longer than Weebit this is what people need to remember, That time and cost is on Weebits side. At the end of the day its all about profit.
I think you need to ask yourself who would you rather be partnered with at this point in time Leti or Western digital.
I bet you a custard tart Western digital aren't giving 4DS a refund on money 4DS spends with them. We get good bang for the buck with Leti.
The French goverment wants France to be a leader in Neuromorphic space, They are throwing big bucks into this.
To me we are at the stage in memory when Nokia / Motorola ruled Mobile phones. The direction Weebit is heading from circuity design to Neuromorphic applications for future applications will unfold.
What started out as just memory has opened a bloody big can of worms.
Think management are playing the long game not pandering to day traders at this point of time.
