Tanner is a typical Labor politician whos only experience in the real world is as a trade unionist.
His first job was as a party functionary, then with the Federated Clerks union until elected to parliament in a safe Labor seat until he resigned. Struggle to see how any of that could be seen as mergers and acquisition (unless you count the number of Labor leaders his served and reshuffles) or capital raising.

Not one real job in all his life.
