A very simplistic view on the options - Anyone who got the options early was basically given a gift - too bad if they end up being worthless Anyone who bought them more recently was taking a speculative gamble on the timing of success - that was your risk, don't expect me to fund it or to be happy about changing the goal posts on that timing. If the company is doing well enough for the SP to get to 4c before the expiry of the options, we probably don't need the extra capital of the options being executed at that time. Given how much dilution has already happened, the options will only add more, AND keep a cap on the SP as options holders scramble to convert before they expire. Alternatively if options holders really believe in the success of the company, and that the SP will rocket above that, then take one for the team, get on board with the heads and convert anyway, inject the cash, help us get over the line for future success.
