Labeling this deal bad requires a comparison of the state of play before and after the deal. Who here, with all the mystery surrounding NSE's share price fall, can say they knew exactly where they stood before this deal? Perhaps management knew the canning and carnavaron assets weren't all they were cracked up to be? Its naive to simply judge this in a vacuum..
There are a lot of well reasoned negative comments being touted and kudos to you all for doing your in depth research. But to make any claim as to whether this deal is in the best interests of NSE shareholders requires a bit more consideration for the state of affairs prior - otherwise you're just seeing half the picture.
Assumptions are the mother of all *&$ ups and the bane of fundamental analysis.
Sentiment is negative, volume is picking up and price remains above prior lows. In my books that's decent sign that we're hitting bottom, without making any assumptions.
