At the same time, they had to spend it to maintain relevance moving forward. If thy sat on their hands then they’d be worth far less in my view. Essentially the investment thesis comes down to whether or not you believe their developed ip will prove profitable in the future, and is able to Create a moat. So far their aesthetic developments seem to be doing relatively well.
