"Westralia now performing in line with Feasibilty Study levels" I am not concerned.
These guys aren't liars....your words Eshmun.
no...but they've raised expectations amongst the professional end of town that any miss will be treated harshly. The seven ticks they gave themselves in the last presentation -days ago- is the evidence of youthful and possibly misplaced exuberance.
consider this : Y2019 targeted production of 180,000-210,000 ounces is underpinned by progressively increasing production of higher grade ore from both the Jupiter open pit (focusing on the Cornwall Shear Zone) and the Westralia underground mine (commencement of mining operations in the Allanson orebody)
Dacian Gold is on track to establish a 10-year mine life while averaging more than 200,000 ounces a year at its Mt Morgans operation near Laverton.
These aren't the words of some starry eyed research analyst..this is the company speaking .
For mine, I suspect the issue is the Westralia underground operations . Consider this : The structural history of the deposit is complex reflecting eleven discrete stages of a pulsing orogen. Early on there was westerly directing thrusting and dextral faults, switching with extensional under east-west contraction events. Then there was a north-west to south-east contraction, with sinistral strike slip faults. This was followed by a late collapse, with the development of normal faults, and flat lying crenulations.
Dacian directors have been too quick to thrust themselves into vulgar comparison with the established goldies- Regis, St Barbara, Saracen - and given that 53% of the share register is hostage to the whims of the despised insto class the punishment in the inevitable Mid-Tier Reckoning [ my words] commencing next week will be severe.
