I agree that the announcement will probably come before market open as this has been the norm, but I really don't understand why they do this?

Surely if the announcement is that good (which we are all confident it will be), surely it would be best to get all the info out to SH's and those looking to buy-in the night before so everyone has more time to understand what the announcement is actually showing. Releasing the announcement in the morning obviously triggers FOMO and people rushing in to get the shares they can at open, which is obviously good for short-term price escalation, but wouldn't it be better if our shareholder base consisted of those who actually knew what they were investing in? rather than those that buy just because everyone else is buying in and its the new hot stock? In my experience (which admittedly doesn't count for much) the ones who rush in to buy on open, are often the first ones to sell their shares as soon as they get a little fearful (often without good reason). Not to mention the ones that are first to complain and clog up all the well researched HC threads - not that management would really care too much about that.

Personally I'd prefer a shareholder base with a slightly longer term outlook who won't panic sell. Anyway, I don't really mind much as I'm topped up with no spare cash lying around; but they are just my two cents. I guess the tight SH base of GLN is also a huge bonus on this front and goes a long way to counteract this, but it seems counter-intuitive to me that the large majority of companies do this.

On another note; this is going to be a MONSTER! (imo)
