I'm wondering how busy AUZ have been in looking at the design detail for Sconi given they now have (An assumption on my behalf) a clearer picture around the resource and the approximate mill feed composition and necessary out put. It's going to be interesting to see - If and when they get to construction exactly what they source locally - I know on Murrin some of the Large vessels were WA made (ANI). I'm hoping QLD has the manufacturing capacity to pick up a lot of this component from the build and the process of awarding work to local companies doesn't end up being the farce it has on other major builds where by the "local" company goes offshore for large elements of their build with modular deliveries. By the same token, I understand components will need to be sourced from offshore locations given the specialities that come with the process. I'm thinking - One way they can help the composition of local content is by having the design engineers (Whoever this may be) - develop the vessel and structural steel requirements using calculations aligned with Australian mill grade steel materials specifications where possible as opposed to other international standards. I gather the hpzl - is the process side of things - Duplex vessels.....possibly titanium piping etc?.....Acid plant internal linings on tanks and specialised pumps etc. Happy for you to explain this further as the nuts and bolts of production isn't my area.
