While I'm sure they knew that SK wouldn't take the stock(the market clearly knew), they couldn't really raise until the option lapsed or they would have been telegraphing to the market that SK weren't going to take it.
The time they should have done this raise was instead of the Bergen deal. It seems they were just too scared to go shareholders after everything they said in the past. Could have been raising at 4.5 - 5c back then
