By the way I stress that I am relatively new to this, and "Plug and Abandon" might be exactly what you do if a test well finds what you are looking for. And then when you drill properly, you might drill a bit differently so as to extract the oil/gas rather than just detect it. But I'm hoping someone out there can shed more light.
