Yes in politics it is neccessary to never seem on the back foot. So they waste a whole lot of money (hopefully), in order that the public will vote them back in..
Its absolute madness, and you really have to wonder about the nature of political discourse when you get something like this happen.
Labor govt should have queitly reversed the ban 6 months ago and none of this would have happened. Would it really have weakened them politically???
I always thought they were pretty left leaning in melbourne, but it maybe more complex than that..
