Hey crazy. I dont own nhc so have no invested agenda. Do you see what you did when you said toxic sludge and leakage? You used some great green exaggerated licence there. I dont know the acland site that well but tailings dams are designed to retain settled washery rejects. What are these toxic substances you talk of? Everything is toxic at some level so are the substances you refer to just at natural levels?
When the acland mine is rehabilitated would the draw down not replenish like when farmers draw down water? Yes it would.
The question for me is are the environmental impacts of the project outweighted by the royalties, jobs, export revenues to the state etc etc.
What makes you think farmers only draw down 1m of the water table?
