now let's get real here. farmers never draw down more than what is sustainable to the aquifer as their livelihood depends on it-even cotton farmers who rely mainly on flood harvesting anyway. the actual drawdown is less than a meter, but that is allowed to be replenished by rainfall events.

what NHC has done is to buy out farms on 1910 titles for a few bob, as they never informed the landowner that they had total rights to the resources on old titles .

then they started to take the township of Acland apart, bit by bit.
