What are the chances that DDC has already been in discussions with FRE about taking control of the shell earlier than the announced takeover offer.
It might be that DDC already have a tech play that is ready to go but need a cheap shell to back door into but neither party could agree on the terms and the talks broke down.
If it was earlier than the takeover offer announcement and the board had knocked them back would that need to be disclosed to the market?
