"International Goldfields (ASX: IGS) has been granted a trading halt today pending the refinancing and strategic direction of Santa Fe Gold Corporation.

Shares of IGS are currently in pre-open.

OTC listed Santa Fe Gold Corporation is a U.S. based mining enterprise with producing mining operations in Lordsburg, New Mexico, and exploration and development projects in southwestern New Mexico, north-central New Mexico and Arizona.

In July last year, IGS agreed to provide an additional US$2 million capital injection on similar terms as the existing US$4 million secured loan.

The halt will remain in place until the earlier of an announcement being made to the market, or the opening of trade on Wednesday 29th January 2014."
