Extensive powers do not necessarily = justice

The Spanish Inquisition had extensive powers and so did the Holy inquisition of the Catholic Church that convicted Galileo of heresy and burnt poor Giordano Bruno at the stake. I’m sure some of you would have volunteered to light the match with what you understand about justice. There is legal justice and there is natural justice. Bruno lit up into a big nice flame based on the legal justice of the Church for proposing the crazy idea that the stars were distant suns surrounded by their own exoplants and raised the possibility that these planets could foster life of their own, a philosophical position known as cosmic pluralism.
