The Takeovers Panel have done this for 2 reasons.
1. Shareholders who have previously accepted the offer now have time to reverse their acceptance if they wish. They have access to new information stated in the release today.
They also now have access to an independent assessment by a regulator.
2. Because the Takeover offer is still open, the Panel can still influence what happens here.
