The Court of Appeal is the province's highest court. It is generally the court of last resort for Nova Scotians seeking to have their lower court decisions appealed, save in a very few cases when there is a further appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada.

Based on my laymans reading this means after the September hearing Higgins may need to resort to standing in front of excavators. Although admittedly Christmas tree production could be of national if not international importance.
I'm off to apply for a Nova Scotian excavator driving licence (the type that allows for braking being optional).
