Let's analyse this from McIntyre:records but not mined during the final stages of full mine closure.” ( end of quote)
Mr McIntyre added: “The Company in conjunction with its Joint Venture partner Superior Resources Ltd
(ASX:SPQ) is now examining methods for the full exploitation of Tick Hill’s gold potential, both internally
and with input from external specialist advisers and mining contractors. These methods may include
concurrently with the establishment of a tailings processing operation the de-watering of the existing min
workings to recover potentially available material from within the existing mine drives and stopes, and th
commencement of new mining activity in high grade offshoots identified in historical mine exploration
1. Bearing in mind the gold price when the mine operated, the original miners high graded it.
2. This means that there's a halo of low grade ore in the mine drives and stopes. This is very easily accessed simply by enlarging the original workings. They probably used a 2 to 3 g/t cutoff grade. Would be interesting to see their original mining assessment.
3." High grade offshoots that were not mined" These will certainly contain substantial gold content and with the current gold price couild easily double resereves.
4. The high gold being mined wasn't depleted, it was cut off by a displacement and I have no doubt will be re-discovered , possibly within a couple of hundred metres and deeper. To my knowledge this type of deposit is normally not this near surface, meaning the continuation should be deeper.
By the way, I've operated underground and surface gold mines and over the years have a developed reasonable knowlrdge on them. However take my post as guesswork but my investigations give me the distinct distinct feeling that Tick Hill could be a sleeping giant.
