There are different types of price drop after good announcements. In fact, many stocks' price drop after good announcements.
The first reason is that market expects better results. One recent example is A2M after its quarterly report.
The second reason I also tend to see very often on ASX is market strongly manipulated by big instos. I can give quite few stocks that I held while this happened. For example, A2M was $1.6-$2.2 for almost a year even though good news after good news had been released. Then, it became the market darling last year. BAL had many good news released yet the share price fell from $12.2 to $10.3 where Morgan Stanley stocked up a lot of shares 1 million exactly. Then the share price went all the way to $16.5. BAL released another good announcement yet the share price went down to $14.9 before it went to its all time high of $23.07 in a matter of a month. The most recent one is AGO when they announced that FMG paid 4.3c per share for 19.9% of their shares. Share price dropped to 2.8c on that trading day. Then, the second day, it jumped 42% to 4c then to 4.6c the day after. Whoever sold after FMG announcement might have contacted suicide hotline.
People who are not careful WILL become the prey of big instos.
My take on SFX is that share price has been deliberately kept low for bots to accumulate at 76.5c -78c. I can tell the price action after the last announcement was very suspicious. Retail investors quickly jumped in to push the price to 84c but bot slowly grinded it down to the level I mentioned above. No one would buy few hundred shares or less than a hundred shares each trade (not economical) but only those who have paid annual fees with sophisticated algorithm trading machines.
I hope this will help and please like if you do agree. I typed all with my phone please forgive me if you see any typos.
