We're on the same page with marketing also. I hear Oprah likes to spruik products she believes in; happy to pay her millions. The company was right in its 'Get the Conversation Started' attempt, which is what our celebrity can do.
It's about Brand name also. For example if I want a shaver I'll go for Remington and not consider Acme. And that's a way less personal product than PeriCoach. This could well be a major cause for lack of sales; women asking 'who the hell is Analytica Medical, a dodgy chinese company?' So we want Oprah introducing "Your personal digitalized pelvic floor physio - PeriCoach, from Johnson & Johnson. Recommended by professionals world wide, and available over the counter at your local drug store".
From a quality study I read - women are prepared to pay up $1400 for incontinence related products. PeriCoach is well priced.
Relating this to offers from majors, say J&J offered 8% royalty, Medtronics 10%, and Acme 15%, but J&J committed to twice as much advertising and marketing expenditure, we'd take the lower royalty.
(Brenno, I can't tell if your post was serious, so I'll emphasise my smart _ comment was in reference to your imaginary position as VP Sales & Marketing; not you.)
