Some comments.
1) The US 790K was to be paid by mid 2015, then December 2015, then by December 2016, then by 31st March 2017, then 30 June 2017. Now by October 2017. It always seems to be a few months in the future.
2) It would be bad for EVM to say the money was not coming as the Apollo payment is already included in EVM books as deferred income. The EVM balance sheet would look very thin if it, and the corresponding receivables entry were removed.
3) Even the receipt of the money ($1,050,000 AUD) would not give EVM a positive current value. It may go direct to pay EVM debits, in particular deferred payments to the directors.
4) Apollo is hardly an independent company as Roger Davey is the Chair of the Apollo Board as well as being the EVM CEO.
