Another solid announcement . Happy to pick up more before the market wakes up. Was lucky to get a demo of the tech few weeks back and lots of aged care operators present ( don't want to name any names incase our competitors are reading these threads - but rest assured some big ones were there ). They were very impressed with the offering. It's a first in the sector - the platform can be tailored to every aged care operator. I was going to do a write up but today's announcement pretty much covers it.
In addition to the tailored content, TV, exercise channels , radio , news etc the MyFamily channel is amazing. Saw a beautiful video that a family had put together for their mother with Alzheimer's. She could watch it and relive her entire life through the photos - from migrating to Australia , marriage . Kids , grandkids etc all captured in the video . Also, families can download an app and keep their family members in loop . For eg- families can send them photos or videos from grandkids sporting events or birthdays , family occasions etc. once uploaded to the app , the residents can view the media through the myfamily channel.
My community channels makes the life of the residents and staff really easy. Instead of posting upcoming events or next hairdressers appointment on a blackboard in the common room. Service providers can use an app to upload information directly to the mycommunity channel so that residents can see when the masseuse or hairdressers appointments are available and I think they can make an appointment directly from the TV. Lots of uses. Aged care operators will have also have their own channel which they can use to show their facilities when prospective clients come to see the place.
The swift staff including ones that have come on board post the web2Tv acquisition are top notch they are well connected and know the sector inside out to the point where they know what is the average residents attention span before they doze off and tailor all content accordingly. They know how swift platform can assist the aged care staff and as they were talking about how swift can alleviate some of the pain points , I could lot of nods in the crowd.
Management been in talks with lots of other aged care operators and I suspect we will see lots more of such contracts in the coming months.
I personally use fetch Tv for internet TV and the swift platform is at par if not better. Very well designed . Easy to install. 6 inch big set top box connects to the back of the TV.
