Mal Maxwells is a real eye opener , if it had gone figures you were quoted , I was quoted 15 by GC .Then things for MCO would have been entirely different , just as if Stacpools had grade factored up for AUL . But where did the Maxwells gold evaporate to . Almost inconceivable that the drill results from Maxwells amounted to near Zip at the Mill . No Grade factoring there other than a huge Downgrade . However it seems to be that most of the vic Goldie’s under modern mining methods have suffered downgrading from historical production figures . Bendigo was 16 grams historical went around 4 and proved unprofitable despite huge sums of money on it . Ballarat was 11 yet got around 3-4 despite hundreds of millions thrown at it . A1 20 yet going around 5 . So to me grade factoring is dead with modern mining . As you said only works on hand sorted ore . What would be great to know is the waste ratio of these old mines to processed ore . You may well find for Many it may have been 3-6 tonnes of waste to one of ore which would explain the current low grades . ( not that we know what MCO ,s was due to lack of transparency and information. ) Aul holders can still believe that other factors are at play for there lack of info .
