And what update can they announce? The ASX query is most likely (by a wide margin) to be in response to the desired announcement regarding said acquisition. Any update that specifically references the query and response (and possibly second query, and second response, prompting further query and further response - you see where I’m going) would have to dance around the subject as the update would become the defacto announcement if it contains any and all details that the ASX want clarified.
If MRD are in breach of anything else other than clarifying the details of this proposed deal, and I do mean anything else - looking at you Nifty - , then they would be bound to notify the market by law. Since there has not been any announcement or update on ANY other subject than the planned acquisition then only a complete moron would suppose that the ongoing suspension has anything to do with anything else other than the planned acquisition.
Those are the facts. Dispute them if you can.
