Yea - I must admit I'm not keen on handouts...
The Retail, Pokies and Street-Drug sectors will not hold up the economy in even the medium term.
A Boost at retail spending looks great on the macro indicators but is FAR from a realistic picture of the economy.
TAX cuts to Businesses and business owners, capital injections to struggling businesses with 100+ staff, and country infrastructure would be where I put the $40B... Also buying up shares in the banks and BHPs, etc would ensure some market stability and capital returns for our TAXes...
I do 100% back stimulus packages... Gov. Debt and deficits are better then the alternative...
