My obseravtion is that many people are intimidated because their stocks are not performing like the one they are negative about.Being burnt in the past also seems to be a big incentive.

I consider that in specs if you are worried about losing money and are defensive you will never make money. To be successful with specs you have to make decisions to make money not to avoid losing it. That attitude flows through to reading between the lines and doing research that gives you confidence. Being negative for no reason is cautious but not going to fly if you want proper returns imo. At ttmes the retail investors forget that the exec are there to run a company which may impact how information is presented to obtain a competitive advantage. JAT are easy to read but some do not want to do that because it is not what they want to hear.
