Thank you AussiBryan, Session and others for your informative links. I understand the principles of the process now. In fact Googling shows that a number of mines, the biggest in Oz being Mt Isa, utilise the SO2 produced by the roasting of sulphide ore to produce H2SO4 whereas others, like Paradigm, import and burn sulphur to produce SO2. In each case the SO2 is mixed with oxygen (O2) from the air and water (H2O) (via a catalyst) to produce H2SO4. So whist the process for producing H2SO4 from SO2 produces heat, it not some magic source of energy, the initial energy is required to produce SO2 so at the end of the say the totality of the process is energy break even. I would imagine the use of sulphur option would be KRR's route brought as backloads from Wyndham. But there is such a wealth of information that I would like to study it in more detail. Certainly seems that production of H2SO4 on site is a real option but at the end of the day it will come down to $ and cents - which KRR are working on now with the PFS. The more I read about KRR the more confidence I get both in the project and in management. This is not a junior company wanting to mine the market, it's a company with a world class resource, intent on developing this for the benefit of shareholders. Bit like the group of guys who developed a mine at Broken Hill (BHP).
