The MOY announcement refers to using methods from the Granny Smith Mine. The Granny Smith Mine process was set up specifically for processing fresh refractory ore. It is discussed in the 2003 publication entitled Advances in Gravity Concentration (link to discussion about Granny Smith).
You will also note that the MOY announcement refers to its own refractory processing study which achieved 61% recovery on 10 micron grinding. No doubt this can be improved. Add on top of that the sulphide recoveries and that's where the MOY announcement is coming form.
MOY is going down the Gravity Concentration path ($15m, 75% net recovery able to be improved) rather than the flotation path ($45m, unknown recovery).
I'm not too sure where RT is coming from in terms of the particular parcels of ore he is talking about, and why Gravity Concentration cannot be used on MOY's ore as per MOY's announcement, but I have an open mind.
