Well Ted, the obvious answer is that the views represented on Hot Copper don't reflect those of the register.

In my opinion, and it is only my opinion, the obvious answer is the correct one.

While Steve Carter has my vote as CEO, I think we could do with a separate Chairman both for support to Steve and to bounce ideas off.

Steve Carter is doing quite a lonely job and, again in my opinion, doing it as well as could be expected by a reasonable person.

Some of the posters here pathologically over-estimate the power he has.

He can't make people do deals and he doesn't have a crystal ball - not one that works, anyway. The negative posters whinge about missed guidance with little or no regard for what Steve Carter actually has within his control. Then, when guidance is met, they whinge about the deals being done. They also whinge about the share price and selling the sizzle so he is three ways damned - can't under-sell, can't over-sell and getting it right is no good either.

With the wisdom of hind-sight he could have done many things differently but I've said it before and I'll say it again, hindsight is for a###holes.

They are actually doing deals with what look like serious, quality partners, they now have Andrew Curtis in the US who has as good credentials as anyone, they have David Philips in Australia who is also well-credentialed and knows the importance of closing and that's just the pointy end of the pyramid. Underneath that they have a wide footing of good technology and protected IP and quality people improving our technology on an ongoing basis. To top that off, we now have third parties funding a lot of our development.

The negative posters fundamental whinge is the share price and their deep and undeserved respect for "the market" - whatever that is. It's only a matter of time before the factors mentioned above reach a critical mass and, compared to the recent past, I believe we do now have time.

When the rubber hits the road these guys will wonder why they let go such a rare but obvious buying opportunity.
