Yes, there's always a few locals that are against most mining in general, particularly those close to towns. They are a minority but they usually make the most noise. Local shop and business owners will start making more noise now (or soon) that the economical benefit has been taken away, albeit maybe only momentarily.
Interesting info re: the Prince Charles land holding. Might do some research to see if I can find the boundaries of said land holding. Usually never a good thing having people of importance holding land or property close by to mines or potential mine developments, particularly when they have enough money to not need or care for the added local economic benefit.
