Are you talking about the A1 mine north of Woodspoint (MCO) my brother was a labourer in it in the 80s. A nickle explorer out of Kalgoorlie bought it about 5 years ago and in the 90s it was owned by a Perth family. I think Max Garling owned it for a while later in the 90s to. I know they had a tailings disposal problem as no where to store tailings on the mountain side, the previous miners use to just dump them in the stream which cant be done nowdays. THere use to be a pub just across the road from the mine where the crew use to stay and drunk away their hard earned. THey also had a little locomotive in the mine that hauled the ore. Probably plenty more gold there but as with most historic Victorian mines not suitable for trackless mining, without a decline in place. There is plenty of history there if you were to go for a drive up there.
