I am with 618 on this.
A corporation is in business to make money. Whyever sell a product at a lower price, when you can sell it for a higher price?
Moosey, your argument is with the government for failing to legislate a percentage of gas for domestic consumption - at a preferential rate, rather than the corporation for seeking to maximise profits.
Consumers are switching to solar for both the economics of it, and because they feel they are doing something for the environment. 1.1 million homes have now done this, well before the gas exports started. The rate of adopting solar may increase due to higher prices, but it was happening and going to happen anyway.
The one thing I agree with, is that NSW allowing fracking is not going to seriously influence global gas prices.
