I don't agree, just look at how the US went about it, they got the CSG going first, they then had very cheap prices for gas so it was used for the production of electricity and not just peak loading, it got used in gas fired power stations for peak loading and for power generation in general, it made it very hard for solar and nuclear to compete.

In the US they are closing nuclear plants, simply because they cannot compete with gas fired plants.
What do these idiots do, the exact opposite! they went for the big bucks, some would say fair enough? but in doing that at the expense of their domestic market, all they have done is made the price of gas uncompetitive for gas fired plants here in Oz as well, when do gas fired plants come into their own? Peak Loading, when does Peal Loading happen, at the hottest part of the day, exactly when all the air conitionerss switch on, when does rooftop solar work at it's best? yep you guessed it, right at the hottest part of the day, do you really think people will just sit there and take it up the nose with high gas fired electricity, no way they will vote with their feet, end result, companies like Santos will have shot themselves in the foot twice, firstly by chasing the big bucks which have melted into the distance now and secondly by not looking after existing domestic customers at home, it's that simple and they have done this to themselves.

Does anybody here really believe that if these companies get their way with CSG that the price of gas will fall? I find it hard to believe that when you look at how they have treated their customers here in the past.
