They will definitely have a range of type curves, even though they have no real production data or analogues. They still have the well data to put into a well modelling program. That's where these EUR figures come from, and why they are able to come up with these estimates of EUR for a given permeability and saturation. As they said, they are using industry-standard software to model the wells. Those wells produce production curves which vary over time, they don't just assume constant flow rates.

I'm not doubting they did allow a 25% inerts content - especially after seeing the Davenport gas compositions.

Re: Chiffre, that's exactly what you can see in the composite log in the Davenport WCR. Almost nothing in the Toolachee coals, small gas peaks across the Epsilon and big ones across the Patchawarra.

    mir911,

It's quite possible I'm wrong about the gas flare - as I said, it's just an estimate (albeit one which 3 petroleum geos including myself came up with independently, and one of those geos has 30 years experience in the Cooper). It's also quite possible that that photo is not typical of the flare - maybe they just used it because it's a nice photo taken at sunset, and the average flare size is bigger.

However, it's pretty clear that that particular photo shows a flare in the low thousands of cubic feet per day.

Check out this photo for comparison of the flare at Senex's Hornet well:

This is what a flare of 1-2 MMscfd looks like. Compare it to STX's photo and you can say quite comfortably that flare is much less than 100 Mscfd - and 5-10 seems a fair estimate IMO. But if you have better info, please do share it!
