    Ptolemic,

    That's really interesting post.

What some may call complications, other may term as learning. This is why I consider progress as early days. The really positive news of late (IMO) are the comments around gas saturation. Gas saturation is a question of fact - it's a geological outcome and can't really be influenced. It is what it is!

Your comments, I think, centre on deliverability, which can hopefully be influenced - call it an engineering/learning challenge. Fortunately, or maybe just good planning, the various wells have vastly different completions, from simple perforations, through small fracced sections to a very large frac at Le Chiffre. I expect there will be huge learning here around accessing rock volumes, pressure drawdowns, changes in permeability blah blah. It's all grist to the mist.

I would expect (or I hope) that the next stage of testing really focusses in on the best completions to promote good deliverability. The sequence (others more technically savvy than me can confirm) would seem, gas saturation (tick), solve deliverability, and then hopefully optimisation to achieve favourable economics. None of this is instantaneous, although I wish it was. More practically it's likely to be a hasten slowly approach. As PSI has reminded us, there have been some curve balls and maybe wrong assumptions and presumably the path to the cheese will still be a complex maze. It would worry me if they start getting too funky technically. Hopefully the commercial guys are steering the ship. Up north (Cooper) I reckon the geos and others got carried away - how else to explain $15m - $25m exploration wells. What were they thinking??

I very much doubt that horizontals will occur. Why throw away a huge capital advantage and introduce all that complication. For me the game is keep it simple - $/Gj!!! Anyway, for what it's worth, outside of Queensland CSG, no one else is exactly knocking it out of park, so there is still time.

DYOR and plenty of patienza (and finders crossed)!!
