My last word on this, the start of this discussion revolved around gas for power generation , which they mainly use for peak loading, peak loading happens around 2pm and goes through to around 5pm on really hot days and also at other times on very cold days, this is when they mostly use gas as a back up to coal fired generation, that also happens to be the best time for solar generation especially on hot days and to a lesser extent on cloudy days , the electricity market is already changing, that is irrefutable.

Gas and Coal receive far more subsidies than solar -:

Australian coal, oil and gas companies receive $4b in subsidies: report

A new report finds exploration by coal and energy companies is subsidised by Australian taxpayers by as much as $US3.5 billion ($4 billion) every year in the form of direct spending and tax breaks.

Solar is already at grid parity in some states

Solar grid parity – why Australia leads the world

I'll leave it at that, as it is the STX and EWC thread.
I know there are some who understand what I am saying and a lot that don't all I can say is check your facts before posting!
