Early last week there was talk in the media of the Fed Govt connecting a gas line between Alice Springs and Moomba to prevent the looming East Coast gas shortage.  A couple of days later this appeared.....

Good to see the buy side slowly building it's way back from 2mil, now 4.6mil

NT gas not an easy solution for NSW
By Angela Macdonald-Smith, 29 August 2014, The Australian Financial Review Any positive vision of linking the Northern Territory into the east coast gas grid, tapping deposits off the far north-west coast, hardly looks a sensible solution for NSW's energy woes. That it is even being discussed highlights the lack of progress getting the state's own plentiful coal seam gas resources, more than 8000 petajoules of them, from the ground. The Browse Basin off Western Australia has more than double that gas, in proven and probable reserves alone. But given the alternative of converting it into LNG at Darwin, gas sent to Sydney would be expensive.
