I think what we need to remember is the 1-2mD permeability that is being frown upon is better than your average CSG perm. So it's not as if we've stuck with some horrendously low perm formation, such as < 0.1mD.
In any case, everything we are discussing here are all conjectures until all the details and facts are disclosed. Since everyone has their own model that works for them, it is a highly subjective matter and one that is full of assumptions used in place of the known unknowns. And that's not catering for the unknowns unknowns. In general though, given the number of curve balls we have faced so far, we are actually progressing very well
