my understanding is SA health want to acquire the license to use the software, in case timelines blow out further (they inevitably do) for hospitals to move to the new system.

Go live dates are usually staggered so the people who help de bug systems can move from hospital to hospital.

Some computers probably cannot run the new software (do not underestimate how old some computer hardware is in hospitals), they are many computers being used that are 5-6 generations old, I would hazard to put that a vast majority are likely slower than your average smartphone these days.

SA health obviously don't want to pay the same amount of money as they have been to GLH so are probably trying to get GLH to agree to a smaller one off payment to let them use CHIRON in perpertuity wo support
