    My understanding is that parts of the Mining Charter will apply to the oil and gas sector.

    Currently there is a 10% "black" ownership provision for oil and gas operations but the Mining Charter is proposing to change that to a uniform 26% across all mining activity including oil and gas.
    Also under the MPRDA the govt are seeking a 20% state retention of oil and gas produced for local consumption.

    But hey thats years away!!!!
