... and also that most of the large contracts are yet to be rolled out (eg: Westfield, Brazil, NZ) and would not have contributed to the reported revenue figures to date.
As I read recently, the company believes the real dollars wont be made in just selling access, rather - it will be in the big data generation, analytics, reporting and ultimately target marketing.
Imagine the value of a SaaS product that receives and processes an individual's google search results when that person searches for a product in a SyyFii wired Westfield Centre. In fact, the search could have been done elsewhere at a different time, but still accessible to Skyfii as part of the user agreement. Skyfii's service then automatically creates content to be sent to that user in real time as a website ad, email, sms or notification, indicating the (Eg) Myer Westfield (suburb) has the product available and lists it's price. Further, it could offer a range of enticements to buy there and then. For example, the ad could say if you purchased that product from the Myer store at Westfield (suburb) within the next 60 minutes, you will receive a 5% discount and enjoy triple FluyBuys points, get free home delivery or free gift wrapping , etc..
That is the real value of monetising the big data solution SKF is rolling out. Problem is, the market just doesn't quite get it yet.
