Totally agree, but if someone has time and access to look up companies ABN data to see a list of directors, financial records etc then it would be just interesting to see who they were.

Just a hypothetical here, just say I'm a director of a fictional company, I get an associate to set up another company which holds an asset for sale. Then the friend sells the asset to my company, gets the cash and pays me say 80% of the money to an offshore shelf company. It would be a neat technique to extract cash out of my company without anyone clearly knowing about it... It would be too hard in Australia for a listed company with ASIC and due dillegence etc having to be clearly shown but probably something people thought about more before the internet era and age of information.
