Sometimes it takes a while for the market to react, but if the fundamentals of the company is improving then its share price will eventually move up.
Although the CTO's departure is a slight disappointment, the existing products & services offering are now ready to generate an abundance of new revenue for many years to come. As the company is already a market leader & ahead on the curve in so many fronts, even if their development pipeline runs idle for a few months while a suitable CTO is found, this should not financially impact the company at all.
Besides, since the CTO has agreed to stay for a smooth transition, this is a very positive sign that he still cares about Nearmap. So contrary to some of the negative beliefs in regards to internal people issues, this genuinely feels like a well thought out career change or career advancement decision.
With these known facts, Paul Lapstun appears to be leaving Nearmap on good terms.
