I often wonder why 50%+ owners retain the minority shareholders and sometimes even pay dividends and that sort of thing.

I think in better times when CR's are feasible, half the cost of major projects comes from outside. It reduces the cost of carry on a possibly non-core asset.

This loan is repayable in 12 months and pays a lot more interest than the bank.
