There are a lot of unknowns. Without Peter Delaney or Ian Mann, OIL would probably not be around. The company exists because of contributions from a team, and they obviously have worked together successfully until recently to produce something good and all of them believed in it enough to bring it to success.

If someone needs to call time on the relationship then so be it, but emotions are more often than not irrational, and this is surely driven by an emotional conflict now.
