I was a holder of Linq when Carousel came aboard and they got all their shares thru the 1 for 1 option that people were not converting. They picked up 10's of millions at 1-2cents, then paid the $1 and then had 30% of the register. The NTA was around $1.45 at the time. They forced Clive Donner to pay them out, which was a huge mistake. So in essence, I dont see Carousel or even Weiss and they would want to pick up at least 20% of the register, which would be nearly impossible withough jacking the share price. They've all learnt a huge lesson when they bought EBI (AIQ now).

As for this SPP, this seems fairly normal to me. I just think that some shareholders see the share price struggling around this mark with the dilution of shares, hence the sell off today, but if CTN can do as they've said and pick the correct stocks this could be quite a good offer.

Are management looking after themselves? well possibly, they will receive 1.5% management fee on the possible $30m, but thats only $450k, yes their is an outperformance payment of (i think 20%), but they have to achieve that target. You would think they'd need a couple more investment managers, so really the $450k would go to them.

I would also think that a fully franked divi would be included on these new shares.

Also, if a hedge fund were going to target an LIC, it would be CTN's sister share CCQ.

...and the question about the buyback, its a feel good statement, they'll buy a few here and there but nothing to adjust the share price, they just dont work.
